Hall, Schieffelin & Smith, P.A. is an AV rated Winter Park medical malpractice defense law firm with an immediate opening for a full-time legal secretary. The position requires a minimum of five years of Florida medical malpractice experience handling cases from pre-suit through trial.

Essential Duties:
· Draft correspondence, emails, deposition summaries, discovery plans, initial reports, and status reports
· Setting up matters in Client Profiles and maintaining complete and accurate information in Client Profiles from inception to conclusion of each case
· Making travel arrangements, as necessary
· Setting up depositions and engaging court reporters, as necessary
· Answering incoming calls and taking messages
· Participating in the firm’s docketing system, including scheduling, logging and reminding attorneys of deadlines and appearances
· Preparing travel reports and vouchers as necessary
· Assist paralegal in preparing discovery documents and electronically file pleadings via Florida court’s E-Filing Portal
· Maintain calendar with scheduling of conference calls, depositions, hearings and mediations; select documents/records to prepare attorney for same
· Coordinate conferences, unsworn statements and depositions of Plaintiff, Defendant, Co-defendant, treaters, experts, fact witnesses and hospital employees
Job Requirements:
· Qualified, experienced candidates must possess a minimum of 5+ years of recent, relevant insurance defense/medical malpractice experience
· Experience in MS Office and Adobe
· Possess knowledge of electronic filing procedures (E-Filing), calendaring and scheduling with multiple parties
· Detail oriented, motivated, organized and the ability to work with minimal supervision
· Performs other duties as assigned
